In Their Words:
August was a jumper. Don’t get me wrong she didn’t jump the fence or anything like that. She loved to jump up the tree and try and get squirrels. I don’t know how I did this so long ago in getting these perfect pictures but this is her jumping halfway up the tree for a squirrel. Another time Mark and I were sitting on the couch watching TV. I had the couch sitting pulled out from the wall and all of a sudden something sailed across our heads very fast and we looked to find that it was August! I also took her to pet training at PetSmart because she kept jumping up in my face. The pet trainer asked me to hold on just a minute as he walked out the door, went down to an aisle and came back with a can of “Stop That”. The next time she tried to jump up in my face he sprayed it at her and that was the very last time she ever tried to do that again. The longer we were together the more we fell in love and she became a very very good girl. As you know, huskies and malamutes can be very very selective in what they want to do and what they want to hear you tell them to do. There was time that we butted heads because she wasn’t going to do whatever it might have been that I wanted her to do. However one of the best things I ever did in her life was teach her to say “mama”. That was one of the most beautiful sounds I ever heard. Oh how I miss my precious one. Forever bonded by love, pure love
